Spiranthes cernua 'Tightlips' is a 2025 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of an Adam Black collection from his property in Brazos County, Texas. Nodding Lady's Tresses Orchid has a wide native range from Maine south to Texas, so this is from the hottest part of its native range. Growing naturally in fields and roadsides, as well as in bogs and marshes, it is quite adaptable in the garden. The small semi-evergreen rosettes give rise to 18" tall, twisted stalks of small white flowers, starting for us in October. In this form, the lips of the flowers are puckered tightly together.
