This elegant lily species is native to elevations of 8,000-11,000' in the mountains of China's Sichuan and Northern Yunnan provinces. In the wild, it can be found growing on grassy slopes and woodlands on well-drained alkaline soils. Each 5'+ tall sturdy stalks is home in mid-summer to 8-12 pendant yellow flowers that are creamy toward the recurved tips. Our plants are from a 2001 Paul Jones expedition to Sichuan.
