This recently discovered and very rare species from Southern China is just now making it's American debut. This is a collector plant only...not a specimen for beginning gardeners. The leaves resemble H. orientalis, except that they disappear in June as the plant goes summer dormant. In early spring, the clumps are topped with H. orientalis size flowers of either white or pink. H. thibetanus seems to dislike poor drainage, so a good rich well drained woodland soil will probably be best.
