In 2020, Plant Delights/JLBG introduced a 2003 Hans Hansen collection of Epimedium pubescens from Guangyuan at 4,500' elevation in Sichuan Province, China. This shorter than typical form produces a 10" tall x 3' wide patch, whose evergreen foliage remains looking great through the winter. The new growth which emerges alongside the flowers in mid-March (NC) is mottled reddish bronze, but is nearly obscured by the masses of small white flowers. You'll love this amazing burst of spring in your woodland garden.
