This Asian native was one of the most prevalent species that we encountered on our 1997 expedition to Korea. The stately plants emerge as a heavily mottled stem that shoots to 2' tall. About two thirds of the way up the stem emerge two leafs...each composed of nearly 1 dozen leaflets each. Above the leaves, sits a short stem 3-5" tall on top of which is the dramatic pitcher. Each 2-3" tall pitcher sports a fat little "preacher", with an elegant arching spathe over the top of the pitcher. This has proven to be a very easy cobra lily to cultivate under well-drained garden conditions.
