(aka: Agave 'Quasimodo', Agave 'Incurva Marginata', Agave 'Marginata Aurea Monstrosa') Agave 'Cornelius' is an oddity, discovered by the late plant collector, Dr. Cornelius of California. We subsequently acquired our plant in 2003 from the UC Botanic Garden at Berkeley. We're confident that this is a variegated sport of an unknown hybrid, but seems to have little resemblance to Agave americana, of which it is often listed. The 18" tall x 2.5' wide, rarely-suckering clump of unusually thick, wavy blue-green leaves is highlighted by 2" wide golden borders. Despite not being winter hardy here in Zone 7b, Agave 'Cornelius' makes a fine container plant.
