This easy-to-grow species from China's Hubei Province is very rare in cultivation but similar in form to Epimedium franchetii. The 1' tall clumps of bold evergreen foliage are topped in mid-spring with sprays of nice 1" wide, yellow, spider-like flowers. Most clones have some bronze tinting in the spring foliage that adds to the garden interest.
