Zephyranthes moctezumae is a recent rain lily discovery made by the late bulb guru, Thad Howard, along the riverbanks of Rio Moctezuma in the Mexican province of Hidalgo ("Bulbs for Warm Climates" by T. Howard, 2001). The narrow green foliage is topped after summer rains with small, 1" cup-shaped flowers of white with a pink blush on the back of the petals...very cute. Zephyranthes moctezumae is not the most vigorous or showy of the rain lilies, but it has fared well in our garden since 2000.
