xMangave 'Pineapple Express' is a 2016 release from Walters Gardens...a hybrid involving two xMangaves, 'Jaguar' and 'Bloodspot'. xMangave 'Pineapple Express' is a fast-growing selection that forms an upright, symmetrical 18" tall x 2' wide specimen of narrow, deeply-channeled, fleshy, olive green leaves, heavily spotted with purple, becoming almost solid purple toward the center. Instead of being sharp, the tiny leaf edge teeth are composed of a non-spiny hard rubber. The slow to offset xMangave 'Pineapple Express' makes a stunning container specimen where it isn't winter hardy...a truly impressive plant!
