Epimedium brachyrrhizum (Fairy Wings)
D. Probst Gdn., MA / Darrell Probst

Epimedium brachyrrhizum (Fairy Wings)

Part Sun to Light ShadeZone: 5-8 8" tall Origin: China

Web-Only! This beautiful new dwarf, clump-forming species of epimedium was discovered in 1994 in the Guizhou Province of China. The leathery, dark green leaves emerge with a wonderful mottled rose-purple pattern in spring. The clumps are topped with arching sprays of giant 2", spider-like rose-pink flowers...incredibly elegant! From Zone 7 south, we expect the foliage to remain evergreen, but it should be cut back in spring for the best floral show. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
