Calopogon tuberosus is a small, easy-to-grow native orchid that ranges from Minnesota south to Florida. Found in open boggy soils and meadows, grass pink emerges in March (south) and July (north) with bunny ear-shaped leaves. On a short stalk atop the leaves are up to 24 small pink flowers that open progressively over a series of weeks starting in June (NC). Plant grass pinks near a path where they can be appreciated. Grass pinks will need to re-establish well before attaining full height. Our offerings are grown from nursery-propagated divisions and not dug from the wild.
