We have been quite enchanted with the performance of Erigeron karvinskianus 'Profusion' for decades in our NC garden, where we use it as a groundcover filler. While Erigeron 'Profusion' will never be mistaken for a showy petunia-like ornamental, it has an understated beauty as a groundcover that can easily spread non-invasively to 6' wide in five years. The 10" tall stalks are topped with small white daisies that age to lavender...more sun equals more flowers. For us, Erigeron 'Profusion' flowers nonstop from May until October. Once established, Santa Barbara Daisy is amazingly drought tolerant. Although we've seen hardiness reports of Zone 5, we have yet to confirm them.
