Polygonatum 'Prince Charming' is as unusual as it is beautiful. From Illinois nurseryman/plant breeder, Brent Horvath, this is, to our knowledge, the first interspecific hybrid in the genus polygonatum. Polygonatum 'Prince Charming' is a cross of our native Polygonatum biflorum and the Japanese Polygonatum humile 'Tom Thumb'. Polygonatum 'Prince Charming' makes an amazing, tightly bunched, heavy flowering clump of 15" tall stems, adorned, starting for us in late April with hundreds of pendant white flowers that morph into beautiful blue fruit in autumn...a superb specimen in the open woodland or morning sun.
