This dwarf selection of the American native Alleghany spurge was discovered and named at Ohio's Holden Arboretum. In stature, P. 'Pixie' is about 1/2 to 1/3 the size of the typical species. The original clump is only 4" tall and had spread to 1' in width when we last visited the arboretum. For gardeners looking for the same wonderful effect on a smaller scale, P. 'Pixie' is a great choice. The clumps are topped with the same white bottlebrush-like flowers in very early spring...very cute!
