Origanum 'Pilgram' is a Jamie Blake hybrid oregano that forms a slowly widening 3'+ wide x 2' tall clump (7 years). The upright, arching stalks are clothed with tiny, glaucous-green leaves, and topped, starting in late June (NC), with terminal sprays of rich lavender-purple (RHS 80A) flowers, each held in a dark purple calyx (RHS 59A). Being a hybrid with the culinary oregano, Origanum 'Pilgrim' also posesses fragrant culinary foliage. Oreganos are also great for attracting an array of cool insects to the garden. Origanum 'Pilgram' is easy to grow, provided it's planted in well-drained soils.
