Ophiopogon japonicus 'Fuiri Gyoku Ryu' is a rare, miniature mondo grass that combines variegation with a tiny, fairy garden-size stature. The 3" tall, dwarf, slowly spreading clumps (slightly taller than Ophiopogon 'Super Dwarf') are composed of short green leaves, each vertically striped with a muted band of creamy gold. Ophiopogon japonicus 'Fuiri Gyoku Ryu' makes a nice, non-invasive groundcover (1' wide patch in 5 years) for a special small area that can be viewed at close range. Ophiopogon 'Fuiri Gyoku Ryu' is a selection of dwarf mondo grass that would make a great groundcover for a fairy garden or in a bonsai container.
