(syn: Chrysanthemum nipponicum) I cannot imagine a garden without this easy-to-grow, fall-flowering perennial. Nippon daisy emerges in spring to form an architectural 2' wide clump, clothed with glossy dark green sedum-like leaves. In early fall, the effect changes when the entire clump is smothered in large pure white shasta daisies. As long as the soil is reasonably well drained in winter, this is extremely easy to grow...striking!
