We originally got this gem from New Zealand with little hope for its hardiness. However, after our worst winter in over a decade with temperatures just below 0 degrees F it sailed through undamaged. The mat of fingernail-sized lime-green leaves is heavily spotted brown giving the mat a unique speckled appearance. In midspring, the clumps are topped with exquisitely cute, tiny purple and white striped flowers...great to plant under everything in the woodland garden!
