This bizarre bulb hails from the Cape region of South Africa, where it can be found growing on dry cliffs. Each plant consists of two round leaves to 3", which lay flat on the ground. Starting in late December and continuing all winter, the sessile (sits on the leaves) cluster of creamy white flowers sits atop the foliage...oh, so cute. This has been a great performer in our garden.
