This Darrell Probst introduction is a hardier form and a new color of this commonly grown species. Lysimachia 'Persian Carpet' makes a flat, semi-evergreen groundcover of small dark green leaves, highlighted by a dramatic red veining. In late spring, the plants are topped by attractive golden flowers. In our trials, it has performed best in full-to-part sun and seems both drought-and moisture-tolerant. While it grows at a steady pace, it is not as vigorous as Lysimachia 'Persian Chocolate'.
