This is one of my favorite structural plants for the garden. The hard rush makes a stunning clump 30" tall x 2' wide of rigid grey-blue stems that arch slightly at the top. We have used this easy-to-grow rush as a mass planting in our bog garden for a great evergreen vertical accent behind bolder coarse-textured plants. If it looks tattered in spring, simply shear it to the ground. Remember that all rushes prefer a moist soil, and when siting, consider that "rush" is known for its tendency to lean to the right.
