This little-known species of indigofera hails from the Yunnan Province in China, where it can be found on dry hillsides from 7,000 - 8,000' elevation. For us, the 6' tall, upright, slightly suckering stems are adorned with honey locust-like foliage. Starting in early May and continuing until fall, the woody stalks are adorned with 3 inch, upright spikes of pink-lavender. This is a virtual flowering machine in the garden that weaves well with other tall perennials.
