This strange member of the dianthus family is best used as an evergreen groundcover that literally clings to the ground. Flowers? Get a magnifying glass! Herniaria is quite the utilitarian plant, as it has little, if any, ornamental value other than as a filler between stepping stones...great in well-drained acidic sites. If your life is already far too exciting and stressful, and you're into things like mosses, perhaps rupturewort is just for you.
