(aka: Helleborus Ivory Prince) This hellebore hybrid (Helleborus x nigercors x Helleborus x ericsmithii) comes from breeder David Tristram of England. The dark burgundy-red petioles support glossy green leaves highlighted by silvery veins. In mid-spring, the deer-resistant clumps are topped with spikes of creamy green flowers which first emerge as dark reddish-pink buds. Thanks to tissue culture, each plant is identical. We made up the x nigersmithii part for this new cross, but we're stuck with the bizarre cultivar name.
