We are pleased to introduce a very rare Japanese cultivar of the wonderful hakone grass that we first observed in the garden of California plantsman Lance Reiners. H. 'Beni Kaze' forms a wonderful 3' wide arching clump of light green foliage whose leaf tips take on a wonderful reddish cast during the growing season and intensify in the fall. For a woodland setting or oriental garden, where a relaxing mood is called for, H. 'Beni Kaze' is just the trick.
