Habranthus brachyandrus is a relatively hard-to-find rain lily that has flat green foliage, similar to Habranthus robustus. When the outfacing pink flower comes into bloom, it's time to get the camera. Each flower can be up to 4" long. The contrast of the outfacing pink flower with the dramatic purple throat is truly is seen in some of its offspring Habranthus x floryi selections (with which the Habranthus brachyandrus is often mistaken).
