Gaura 'Walsnofou' is the latest gaura from the work of UK breeder David Tristam. Despite the really bad cultivar name, G. 'Walsnofou' has been a standout in our trials. G. 'Walsnofou' forms a woody base, making it more reliably perennial that any gaura that we have trialed. 2-year-old specimens form a compact but large clump to 3' tall x 5' wide (including flower spikes). The clumps are topped from May through September with spikes of white, butterfly-shaped flowers. Good drainage is important for all gauras to be reliably perennial.
