Dryopteris uniformis 'Gotemba Crested' is a crested form of the Asian native Dryopteris uniformis that was shared with us by Georgia plantsman, Ozzie Johnson, who picked it up at Japan's famed Gotemba Nursery. The 2' tall evergreen fronds that compose the 2' tall x 2' wide deer-resistant clump are crested on both the terminals and tips of each pinnae...a lovely woodland garden specimen. We originally received and offered this as Dryopteris lacera, which it turns out was incorrect. Average to slightly moist soils are best.
