(aka: Dryopteris 05CH004) Dryopteris kinkiensis (love the name) is a little-known, semi-evergreen Asian fern that has become one of our favorite ferns in the garden. Dryopteris kinkiensis is related to Dryopteris championii and forms a lovely clump, composed of very wide dark green fronds. Although slow-growing, Dryopteris kinkiensis is quite easy to grow when planted in an evenly moist soil, eventually forming a 2' tall x 2' wide deer-resistant clump. These offerings are spore-propagated from original spore collected by Hans Hansen in Guizhou, China.
