The slender crested male fern...sounds like one of those high-dollar folks with four names and a hyphen! This open-growing, deciduous fern produces 30" fronds with an airy texture. At the end of each leaf is a forked pinnule...it splits in two, for the botanically impaired. Each leaf along the stem also ends in a cute little petticoat...not that we approve of male ferns with petticoats, but we won't discriminate. This darling mingler is best when blended with other woodland inhabitants.
