Disporum 'Winter Sun' is a little known variegated selection of the semi-evergreen Disporum longistylum. Disporum 'Winter Sun' is somewhat similar to Disporum 'Shina-no-tsuki' except the leaves emerge dark green and change mid-season to chartreuse with a narrow, dark green border. The leaves of Disporum 'Winter Sun' are also slightly wider and shorter than Disporum 'Shina-no-tsuki'. With age, Disporum 'Winter Sun' will reach 18" tall with lanky stems, best planted near other woodland plants for support. In early spring, the clumps are adorned with upright stalks of small white flowers, each with a protruding style...hence the name "longistylum".
