Disporopsis aspersa is incorrectly sold in the US as either Disporopsis fuscopicta or Disporopsis arisanense, but it's not Disporopsis arisanense and true Disporopsis fuscopicta has knobby rhizomes and doesn't appear to be in the US. The round, glossy evergreen foliage adorns the 15" tall basally purple-speckled stalks. Expect a 10-year-old clump of this easy-to-grow, deep shade-tolerant Solomon's seal to spread to 3' wide. In early spring, the clumps of Disporopsis aspersa are adorned with white axillary flowers with interior purple speckling and a delightful lemon fragrance.
