Crinum 'Mystery' is an introduction from the late crinum breeder Cecil Houdyshel, who crossed Crinum erubescens with Crinum 'Ellen Bosanquet'. Crinum 'Mystery' makes a vigorous clump with 8-10, open, dark pink, deliciously fragrant flowers with white a white star-shaped throat, atop 3' tall stems, starting for us in mid-July. The short, but wide green leaves resemble the Crinum erubescens parent. This is not the same as Crinum 'Pink Mystery', which has a much lighter pink flower.
