This offering of Crinum macowanii comes from the African country of Malawi. Our offerings are seed grown at Plant Delights from an original Dave Lehmiller collection. Despite their warm origins, the parent plants have been winter hardy here since 2005. The wavy green-leaf clump to 15" tall (the shortest form of Crinum macowanii we grow) serves as a nice foil for the 2' tall flower spikes that adorn the plant from late May through August (NC). Up to 15 fragrant, white, chalice-shaped flowers per stalk emerge from lovely maroon-keeled buds, first facing outright, then becoming pendent.
