The Madagascar native Crinum ligulatum has turned out to be one of the true early-flowering stars of our crinum trials. Our seven year old clumps of compact green foliage are topped with 18-20, 30" tall flower spikes, starting in late April (NC). Each stalk is topped with 14-16 spider-like white flowers which begin as burgundy-blushed buds. The floral show is enhanced by the burgundy stamens which contrast nicely with the white petals. We can't find enough adjectives to tell you how much we love Crinum ligulatum!
