Considerably smaller than regular pampas grass, C. 'Gold Band' is probably my favorite for small gardens. The long narrow leaves with dramatic, buttery yellow edges make an upright waterfall-like clump that literally seems to glow. In late summer, the clump is topped by pampas-like plumes of tan, held well above the foliage. C. 'Gold Band' is best grown for its foliage, as its flowering is much more sparse than other cultivars.
