(aka: Clematis Serious Black) Clematis 'Lime Close' is a highly prized selection of the central to southern European Clematis recta. Clematis recta 'Lime Close' grows upright to 6' tall, emerging with dark purple, nearly black foliage that ages to green as the weather warms. The cloud-like masses of terminally-produced single, white, narrow-petaled flowers adorn the plant in late spring and are repeated again in midsummer. While Clematis recta 'Lime Close' isn't a vine, it does best with support nearby to help it stand upright with the weight of the flowers. Clematis recta dies to the ground in winter and flowers both on old and new growth.
