This 1979 introduction from the Spingarn's of Long Island is very similar to the species C. obtusa, but much smaller...3' in 10 years. This vigorous selection has the same congested foliage in regular hinoki cypress, but with a slightly lacier growth habit. To me, a mature plant looks like a shaggy green bowling pin that was plugged into a light socket...nuff said.
