After several years of trials, we are pleased to offer this collection of the Taiwanense Begonia chitoensis (previously misidentified as B. ravenii). Our plants come from a Crug Farm expedition to the central mountains of Taiwan. The 10" succulent, rounded leaves emerge from a thick rhizome to form a 2' tall x 2' wide clump. The bold-textured clumps are adorned with stalks of pink flowers, starting in late summer. A moist, well-drained woodland soil is preferable.
