We are pleased to introduce a wonderful new aucuba, Aucuba japonica 'Cecil-Alice'. This female selection was introduced by the late research geologist, Dr. George Phair, and named after his wife, Cecil-Alice Phair. George shared his aucuba selection with us in 1998 with our promise that we'd introduce it commercially. Our original clump of Aucuba 'Cecil-Alice' is now 3.5' tall x 6' wide, adorned with evergreen creamy gold and green flecked leaves. George noted that Aucuba 'Cecil-Alice' is a female with white fruit, but I must not have a male nearby since I've never seen any fruit.
