Aspidistra ebianensis 'Flowing Fountains' is a unique cast iron plant, brought to the US as an un-named clone of Aspidistra lurida from China's Wuhan Botanical Garden by plantsman Hayes Jackson. For us, Aspidistra ebianensis 'Flowing Fountains' has formed a strongly arching clump to 15" tall x 3' wide in five years. The clump is composed of 20" long x 2" wide dark green leaves which are heavily speckled with large creamy yellow spots. Aspidistra ebianensis 'Flowing Fountains' makes a superb groundcover, which overwintered well in our gardens at 9 degrees F in 2013/2014.
