We are thrilled to introduce what we think is the first named selection of the little known giant Chinese wild ginger, Asarum nobilissimum. Asarum nobilissimum 'King Kong' boasts 8" long x 5" wide, glossy, black-green leaves that radiate out on 8" long stems from a slowly spreading patch to 3' wide in 6 years. In mid-April (NC), the patches are adorned with insanely huge 4" wide flowers of soft yellow with muted purple flecking. You won't need to peek to see the flowers of Asarum nobilissimum 'King Kong'.
