One of the most admired of the spring flowering plants in our garden is this heat loving US native that hails from Colorado south to Mexico. In late spring, the green rosettes give rise to 2 - 3' tall narrow stalks that are topped with clouds of long spurred yellow flowers...great emerging through lower ground covers such as Veronica 'Georgia Blue, or against a green backdrop or combined with blues and greys.
