This new dwarf compact selection of our native East Coast columbine was discovered by F.M. Mooberry (of Phlox 'David' fame) near Eagles Mere, PA. Unlike typical A. canadensis which can reach 3' tall, A. 'Canyon Vista' remains between 12" and 18" tall. Just like the species, the short evergreen rosette begins to expand upwards in early spring, often with reddish stalks. In April, the clumps are topped with lovely red and yellow bicolor flowers...a great naturalizer in the woodland garden.
