We are pleased to introduce the first named blue star hybrid from the garden of our friend and garden writer/photographer Pamela Harper. This introduction occurred in her garden as a spontaneous cross between Amsonia hubrichtii and Amsonia tabernaemontana. A. 'Seaford Skies' makes a very large deer resistant clump, arching to 5' wide, topped in very early spring with numerous clusters of typical sky-blue flowers. For us, the size has been much larger than either parent, with a slightly later flowering time. The foliage is intermediate in width between the parents.
