This recently named species of Agave has performed wonderfully for us in our moist East Coast garden. Thanks to a Yucca Do seed collection, we finally have enough to share. This collection is from southeastern Nuevo Leon at 9,500' elevation...well above the region where A. gentryi integrates with other species. A. gentryi makes a very structural, 3' tall x 5' wide mound of glossy green foliage with upturned tips. The dramatic, large black spines are also quite attractive...unless you back into them accidentally.
