Abutilon 'Marion' (not to be confused with A. 'Marion Stewart') is an A. megapotamicum hybrid that makes a 4' tall x 3' wide bush (sorry if I offended some liberals with that term). The maple-shaped leaves serve as a nice backdrop for the abundant display of orange-salmon (RHS 34B) lanterns, which are produced from early summer until fall. A. 'Marion' was voted the best flowering maple in the Royal Horticultural Society trials and awarded their prestigious Award of Garden Merit in 1999.
