This marvelous Abutilon megapotamicum hybrid resembles the species, except on steroids. You've seen what steroids do for Olympic runners; you'll be amazed at their effect on abutilons. Each 3' tall x 3'+ wide clump is adorned with wide, pointed green leaves on long, arching stems. In each leaf axil, large lantern-shaped flowers magically sprout. Each lantern is composed of an orange-red top, a yellow curtain beneath, and bright red anthers protruding from below the curtain...imagine a flamboyant hula dancer in dire need of the late Dr. Atkins. Good winter drainage is important at the northern end of their hardiness range.
