(aka: Dryopteris affinis ssp. stillupensis) Centered in Poland and the Czech Republic, Dryopteris cambrensis is a triploid evolutionary derivative of the more widespread, diploid European Dryopteris affinis. Dryopteris cambrensis, recently elevated to species status, has been a superb grower in our hot, humid summers for well over a decade, forming a stunningly elegant 30" tall x 3' wide solitary evergreen specimen. For us, it has proven tolerant in average garden soils from slightly acidic to slightly alkaline.
