Saururus cernuus 'Hertford Gold' is a PDN discovery, a gold-leafed sport of Saururus 'Hertford Streaker'. The new foliage on this stoloniferous, bog-loving, North American native emerges gold before aging to green, providing a lovely color contrast. In late June (NC), the 2' tall plants are topped with white, bottlebrush-like, terminal flower spikes. Moist to soggy soils are key to keeping Saururus cernuus happy.
